The Garden provides a stimulating programme of visits and activities to promote pupils’ spiritual, moral, social, and cultural development.
These activities enhance the curriculum, providing enriching experiences to aid our pupils’ personal development. Pupils take part in on-site activities such as gardening, and attend visits to markets, art galleries, museums and places of religious significance. Furthermore, through our strong relationships with cultural organisations, pupils are regularly visited by dance, drama and opera groups.
“Over time, the pupils learn to reflect on situations, to deal with social occasions and to control their own behaviour. The range of subjects contributes very well to their academic skills and physical development.” – Ofsted
For several years, The Garden school has been involved in a performing arts scheme with the Barbican, working with drama professionals to create a performance piece for participating schools. This project culminates in an annual stage show each summer.
We have long-standing links with several museums including Hackney Museum, which has curated displays of pupil’s work including the 2014 exhibition ‘Picture Taking: Exploring Myself through Photography’
Music & Dance Festival
